Why Women's Police Stations : ウィキペディア英語版 | Why Women's Police Stations Womens Police Stations ==Womens Police Stations==
Women's police stations (also units or offices) – Spanish: ''Comisaría de la Mujer'', Portuguese: ''Delegacia da mulher'' – are police stations specialized in female victims. They were first introduced in 1985 in Brazil and are numerous in Latin America------This is the orginal article, im exanpding on this. Women's police stations have been established, mostly in the Latin Americas. They have yet to build any in the North Americas or Europe. This show's how society is improving with allowing women to have their own unit. As well as this sounds it could also be an issue. Society may not be separating them in order to maintain control but possibly to separate women because aren’t good enough, or as good as the men… The issue with Women's Police stations they are only allowed to respond to certain crimes, this is according to UN Women. Such as psychological violence, domestic violence, family violence, some threats, and some sexual violence.() Sure they have their own station but they aren’t even allowed to respond to everything that is reported. Hendon publishing even says that women police had different tasks to respond to but never street patrol. Hendon also mentions how at the start of women becoming police their tasks was to patrol dancing halls.() The “heavy duty” crimes and more violent issues are reported to the men. If the women officers were trained correctly they should be able to respond to any crimes and have equality with the men. It was not until late 1960s that women started to have equal tasks as the men. () Women's police units are not only for fighting crime or helping with violence. The sole purpose of these units were not made to separate women completely from the men. By creating these Women's Police stations, the women are trying to raise awareness of women's rights and security. Taking further actions to protect women in these countries. () Women's Police Stations are not only for responding to women victims but also to help women in trouble. Some units offer financial help, counseling, and medical care for the women who are having trouble.() UN Women states, " For example, in India, a study found that the establishment of 188 women’s police stations resulted in a 23 percent increase in reporting of crimes against women and children and a higher conviction rate between 2002 and 2004."() The women in these police stations are increasing the safety of these areas along with recognizing the incidents actually happening.() The greatest effect from Women's Police stations was bringing awareness of crime and the women in trouble having somewhere to go.()
